You should seriously consider looking elsewhere if you are thinking about higher education. This school targets international students and does little to support them after they enroll. Aside from that, the staff is not so subtle about letting you know how unwelcome you are if you are from overseas. Alongside the substandard education offered by this university, you'll likely notice an apathetic innuendo similar to what was seen in the 1950's. In short, this school is mediocre at best! New Zealand is a beautiful place, but the environment created by this University's leadership is quite toxic. The degree I was awarded serves as a reminder that some people will never change.

These are the kind of anecdotal stories the school's commerce department tries to take advantage of to legitimize their disgraceful position in the university. They might try and throw some fancy numbers at you from time to time as well but that still won't justify the stain they place on the school since treating people like human beings seems to fall short on their priority list. Steer clear of this university as the school's administration is no different.

I love how this university is still trying to congratulate itself on being mediocre. The school just rolled out a new promo video where the comment section has been conveniently turned off. That video in no way reflects the reality of this university. I placed the degree I was awarded by this institution above my toilet.

Wow. Just a minute in to this talk, and she is lying. When the name Shakespeare was mentioned during the time the man from Stratford was alive, there is in fact no evidence the reference was to that individual. The reference was to “the author”. Where is there any evidence this man was a writer, or even literate?

    • @Jeffhowardmeade

When they refer to Shakespeare the poet being an actor and/or a gentleman, they are referring to an individual. She isn't lying. You are.

Nah - This university is in decline. They're happy to pay for a woke rebrand with a ugly corporate logo that scraps the history while reducing the number of staff. There are much better universities out there. This is run by a pretentious mob who are driving it into the ground.

Arguably one of the worst universities in the southern hemisphere. You should definitely consider going elsewhere, especially if you are from the United States; you don't belong and they will let you know that in their not so subtle passive aggressive ways.

I woke up this morning to realize the university took down a video that I commented on which did not include a favorable view (that makes three times this has happened). So, since the school insists on suppressing free speech, I thought it would be good to continue commenting on AS MANY videos/forums as necessary until that tyrannical behavior stops so that the people interested in this school are afforded a full, unbridled look at the university. If you are interested in moving to Dunedin to pursue "higher" education, consider looking elsewhere. The education provided by this university is subpar at best. Teachers and staff are astoundingly passive aggressive and barely willing to move an inch if it means disrupting their careless view of the world. The leaderless environment this school operates in only makes things worse. Rarely do they hold themselves accountable to any wrong-doing and are more likely to blame lower-level positions for poor performance or more recently, the government for lack of support - this way leadership can offset negative impacts from the healthy wages they are given to future generations who will likely see an inevitable increase in tuition pricing even after accounting for inflation. This is elegant thievery at its finest! As an international student, not all experiences were bad, but I am still reluctant to include the degree I was awarded on my resume. That has everything to do with the school's everyday practices and low-standard of education. All this does is de-motivate students and make them want to do the least possible until they are given their "participation trophy." Everyone loses when this happens; the degrees awarded by the school will begin to count for less and less and students will lack the skills necessary to succeed in the real world. Leadership has clearly created a popularity game situation as if to say, "If we like you, you will succeed and we will support you. If we don't like you, we will use as many microaggressions as necessary to help you understand that if there is a problem, it's probably your fault and not ours." So, for those of you Otago "marketing experts" reading this comment (if you care enough to have read this far) listen up: You can turn off the comment section (like you've done in other videos) or take down the video all together (like you've done before) but that is only going to make things worse OR you can practice what you preach and actually take steps grounded in reality to help protect free speech and provide students with better quality education. Either way, silencing alumni is never a good idea (as evidence by this post) and if you need someone to prove that to you, get ready!

This university is an absolute joke! It's interesting to see how the comments are conveniently turned off in the school's Tuakiritaka Identity videos. I graduated from here as an international student and am reluctant to placing the degree I earned on my resume. If you are thinking about higher education, great! However, this isn't it. You should seriously consider exploring other options. The staff is often incredibly passive aggressive and most can't be bothered to do anything that upends their apathetic lives. The university (if you want to call it that) sure does want your money though.

People here trying to make this challenge easier just focusing on the reps IGNORING they are forced to use their naked fists against tarmac and rocks which HURTS. Limiting factor for most are not the push ups but baring the pain in hands.
